Traditional Culture FAQ

Can I choose my activities?

Unfortunately not. The activities are scheduled monthly and cannot be changed.

Can I change the dates and times they take place?

Due to class schedules and limited availability spots for some activities, the dates and times are fixed in advance.

How many activities will I have per week?

You will have between 2-3 activities per week. These activities can all take place during one session and will accumulate for an equivalent amount of 6 regular lessons.

What activities will take place during my study period?

Yes, but due to the number of participants and seasonal events, the schedule can only be confirmed about 1 month before your classes take place. Therefore it is impossible to let you know in advance what activities will take place during your stay.

Are transportation and meals included in the price?

Transportation yes but not meals, except for cooking workshops.

Can I take this module for more than 2 weeks at one location?

As mentioned above, activity schedules are fixed per month, hence it is not possible. However, activities differ per school location, which means you can take this module again when going to another Meiji campus.

My friend is coming to visit me in Japan and would like to join the activities. Is that possible?

Under normal circumstances, only fully enrolled Meiji students are allowed to participate in Meiji Academy's cultural activities. However, we have a special clause, where we allow Meiji students to bring their friend, if a spot is available. Your friend would still have to pay the regular module fee as everybody else.
