Holidays information

Meiji Academy is an officially registered Japanese Language School by the Japan Ministry of Education and Japan Immigration Bureau. Therefore, we are committed to following a certain number of national and public holidays to allow our students to take part in extracurricular activities. The extracurricular activities will take place as a replacement of Japanese language classes.


Note: If a national holiday falls on a Monday, the orientation for new students will take place on Tuesday.

Classes won't take places in the following dates:

  • Monday, May 5 - Children's Day
  • Tuesday, May 6 - Greenery Day
  • Monday, July 21 - Marine Day
  • Monday, August 11 - Mountain Day
  • Monday, September 15 - Respect for the Aged Day
  • Tuesday, September 23 - Autumnal Equinox Day
  • Monday, October 13 - Sports Day
  • Monday, November 3 - Culture Day
  • Monday, November 24 - Labor Thanksgiving Day
