Wonderful school with the friendliest staff❤️ Teachers geniuenly cared about us and our learning - i learnt more in 3 weeks studying here than half a year by myself! The cultural classes were also very interesting: we got to wear kimonos and attend tea ceremonies. Meiji Academy and Fukuoka will always have a place in my heart❤️ ありがとう❤️

I stayed for two months and took the intermediate course. The teachers are very friendly, patient and helpful. Life in the sharehouse was fun, and I made many new friends 😊

I took a 3 week summer language course at the Meiji Academy and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The teaching staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, even with regards to matters not directly related to the language course itself, such as accommodations and questions of day to day life, or recommendations for activities in and around Sapporo. It is clear that they enjoy teaching and interacting with the students, which makes for a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. Events and activities are also frequently planned by the Academy itself, and there are always up to date brochures and other informational material on current events in Sapporo. This allows for authentic cultural experiences and regular interactions with native Japanese speakers, even from outside of the Academy.

Had a great experience at Meiji over the course of ~3 months. Really enjoyed spending time with the teachers/staff and I occasionally stop by to say hello when I’m near the area. Everyone there is very accommodating as long as you are vocal about what you want (ie. Change level of study, acquire additional study materials, etc.). Located between Tenjin and Nakasu the school is close to a lot of fun areas. Plus, Fukuoka is a great place! -David

I had an absolutely fantastic time at Meiji Academy in January 2023! I spent 6 wonderful weeks there as a beginner. Initially, I was surprised by how small the school was, but by the end, they had expanded to larger rooms, including a student lounge, which was exciting. I rented the studio flat through Meiji and it was nice that they took care of everything. The flat was convenient and has all the basics.

If you are looking for a great place to improve your japanese language skills while also experiencing the japanese culture and meeting new people, then Meiji Academy is the place for you. They offer super fun and intense classes in a small group of around five people per class, which is perfect for improving your japanese. Outside of the usual classes, there is a multitude of additional activities which are organised by the school, like japanese culture classes, eating and drinking at Izakayas, language exchange events with japanese people, karaoke etc.
